Cannabinoids are naturally produced in the human body (whether a person uses cannabis or not) Anadamide is one of these natrual canabinoids that bind to the C1 and C2 repeaters of neurons found all over the body. External cannabinoids from the cannbis plant mimic our natural cannabinoids and through the use of the endocanabinod system, activate healing throughout the entire body.

Neurotransmitters
Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers. They send information between neurons by crossing a synapse, this is known as neurotransmission. Electrical signals are not able to cross the gap between most neurons so they are changed into chemical signals to cross the gap. Psilocybin is the active chemical component of psychedelic fungi, otherwise known as "magic mushrooms". The body breaks down psilocybin into psilocin which passes the blood brain barrier to attach to receptors of neurons. Unlike cannabinoids, psilocin doesn't just effect the rate at which neurons fire, but also stimulates the growth of new synapses, otherwise known as nueropathways. This stimulation in growth is known to increase creativity and introspection. Because of its Schedule 1 classification in the United States, the medicinal effects of magic mushrooms is limited in its studies.
Amino Acids and Molecular Structure
Its easy to see the similarities in the chemical makeup between certain neurotransmitters. The amino acids (tryptophan, tyrosine, phenylalanine) are the biosynthetic precursors for the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine.
N,N-Dimethyltryptamine
Known as the 'spirit molecule', DMT, is thought to exist in every living on earth. It is said to be the neurotransmitter that is released during dreaming, meditation and death. DMT can be burned for inhalation or taken orally. However, because DMT is found in all life, the human gut has evolved and developed enzymes that break down the DMT molecules,to prevent us from having constant psychedelic trips when eating, an MAOI is needed to allow the DMT to get into our bloodstream without breaking down during digestion.
